BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU
Jiu Jitsu is a martial art that focuses on using leverage and technique to overcome size and strength. It is a grappling based martial art that studies pin escapes, sweeps, takedowns and submissions (joint locks and chokes). While it is a very effective self defense art, it is also commonly practiced as a sport.
Our Brazilian Jiu Jitsu program is open to people of all levels of fitness, all ages, and is very beginner friendly. We focus on training "with" each other, as opposed to training "on" each other. When trained with good control, Jiu Jitsu can be drilled and sparred at a high level of intensity, without risk of injury. Control and safety are always a priory.
Practicing Jiu Jitsu is often thought of like a mental and physical game of chess. There is a counter for every technique, and a counter for that counter. It is a very deep and rich martial art, but is also a lot of fun to train. Improved fitness, endurance, flexibility, mobility and agility are just some of the benefits of training this art. MUAY THAI
Muay Thai, or sometimes referred to as Thai Boxing, is the national sport of Thailand. Thai boxers have been called "Kings of the Ring," as they have mastered striking with kicks, knees, punches and elbows. Thai boxers are known for their legendary conditioning, superior offense and rock solid defensive skills. The Control Muay Thai classes will not only teach you how to move and react like a Thai boxer, but will also significantly improve your fitness level. Our "go at your own pace" class structure insures that anyone, at any fitness level can participate.

JKD Kickboxing mixes...
The blend of these arts results in a very comprehensive and well rounded kickboxing art that is equally effective in self defense and the ring. Kick, Punch, Knee, Elbow, Clinch and Grappling ranges are all covered in this class.
We tend to categorize martial arts in three different ways, based on their focus. Some are more focused on Combative Techniques, some are more focused on Sport Techniques and some are more focused on the Art side of training. Most arts are a blend of all three categories. For example, Muay Thai is more weighted towards the Sport aspect. What makes JKD Kickboxing different from pure Muay Thai is not only the blend of arts, but also its focus on the Combative category. Both arts are highly effective in self defense situations. They are simply two different flavors of Kickboxing.

KALI & FMA
KALI & FILIPINO MARTIAL ARTS
Kali is a dynamic weaponry and empty hand based art from the Philippines. This class also blends techniques and concepts from several other Southeast Asian Martial Arts such as: Escrima, Arnis, Silat, Panantukan, Muay Thai and Krabi Krabong.
The empty hand portion of this class includes all ranges of melee combat: Kicking, Punching, Elbows, Knees, Clinch, Standing Joint Locks, Throws , and Ground Joint Locks/Breaks. If you've watched the John Wick or Borne Identity movies, then you've seen Kali in action!
Overall Kali is broken down into twelve distinct areas..

Our Kali - FMA curriculum has been passed down to us from Guro Rick Faye (Minnesota Kali Group), and the legendary Guro Dan Inosanto (Inosanto Academy).
